The web-based seminars are recommended for
all new customers and cover basic control console functions and operations for
administrators. The Customer Administrator will learn how to use the control
console to establish policies regarding the filtering of e-mail when spam,
viruses, unwanted attachments or content is detected. The Administrator will
become familiar with configuring policy details, using activity reports,
managing user details, managing quarantined e-mail and domain-specific
configuration settings. We will also discuss how the Administrator can access
valuable supporting resources.
Upon completion of this class,
the Administrator will be able to:
|
Login successfully to the control console |
|
Define domain management details |
|
Configure the Disaster Recovery Service |
|
Create a user with proper access rights |
|
Configure e-mail filtering policies |
|
Manage quarantined messages for a domain |
|
Use activity reports to analyze traffic patterns |
The two-hour Customer Administrator class is given remotely via WebEx every
Monday, Wednesday and Friday using the following schedule:
|
Monday (1 -3 pm ET) |
|
Wednesday (4 - 6 pm ET) |
|
Friday (11 am - 1pm ET) |
Please sign-up using the form to the right.
Redirecting your MX Record
Broadview Networks has provisioned your domain(s) in the control console.
The only additional requirement to begin e-mail filtration is for you or your ISP
to redirect your mail exchange (MX) record for this domain to:
|
[fully qualified domain name].inbound15.mxlogic.net
at a preference level of 15
|
|
[fully qualified domain name].inbound15.mxlogicmx.net
at a preference level of 15 |
Example:
|
smithplumbing.com.inbound15.mxlogic.net
|
|
smithplumbing.com.inbound15.mxlogicmx.net |
(removing all previous listing of your e-mail server)
Please note:
if your account includes more than one domain,
the additional domains have been set up. The MX records for any additional
domains provisioned should be redirected in the same manner above.
To assure that no mail is presented to your mail server without being processed
by FrontLine Email Security, you will need to restrict all IP access to your mail
server with the exception of the following Broadview subnets:
|
66.179.26.128/26
|
|
66.179.109.160/27 |
|
64.92.205.64/27 |
|
216.183.119.96/27 |
|
208.65.144.0/21 |
This can be done by creating a firewall rule, or restricting access at the
server level. If you are using Exchange, we recommend locking down at your
firewall. Please consult with your network administrator before making any changes.
After you have completed the service configuration process, Broadview will
automatically begin filtering your company’s e-mail, based upon the policies
you establish.
